It all started when I stumbled upon the domain sky.xyz, just sitting there unclaimed like a last-minute Manchester United lineup change.
I grabbed it, threw it onto my Ampere-powered playground server, and slapped Caddy on it instead of Nginx because, well, I’m lazier than United’s defense in injury time. Caddy just works without the back-and-forth I’d expect from… well, certain teams.
I’m using Grav CMS for this wild project, which sounded cool when I read about it (flat files, no database, all the hipster dev buzzwords). But here’s the kicker - as I’m writing this intro, I still have absolutely no idea how to actually create a post on Grav yet. It’s like being in charge of United’s midfield but with zero clue where the ball is supposed to go. But hey, we’re learning on the fly, which feels oddly fitting for a blog about football, movies, and all things chaotic.
What will you find here? That’s a bit of a wild card. I’ll be ranting about movies I love, music I can't stop listening to, and the ongoing soap opera that is Manchester United. This site was originally going to be my place to rant about Erik ten Hag's questionable tactics, but United did what United does best - made another mid-season managerial substitution. With ten Hag sacked faster than a through ball to nowhere, I’m sitting here waiting for Rúben Amorim to come in and, hopefully, turn this around. Though knowing us, it’ll be another classic “wait till next season” scenario.
So, if you’re into hot takes, questionable tactics, and a blog that has as much direction as United's midfield (hey, we’re working on it!), you’re in the right place. Welcome to sxy.xyz, where the passion is real, the rants are frequent, and the only thing more unpredictable than the posts is Manchester United’s lineup.
